The Quiet Librarian's Office

A cluttered room. A single desk lamp. Everything you need to know is already there.

Silhouetted woman in black dress stands in a lit library doorway, framed by vintage world maps, handwritten notes, and old book art.

You enter a small office at the back of a local library.

A single desk lamp. Warm light over stacks of books and scattered notes. The walls are lined with shelves — novels, encyclopaedias, ancient texts. Some of them are covered in dust. Above the desk, a corkboard plastered with yellowing postcards, several marked with dates and locations. Next to it, a faded world map with a few pins pressed into it.

Nobody told you anything about the person who works here. You don't need them to.

What can you deduce about the librarian?

Their profession. Their emotional state. Their habits. Recent actions. And anything in the room that doesn't quite fit.

Take your time. The details are not decorative.
